Comparison Between Pesticide Spraying Technology: Tractor vs. Drone

  • Compared two pesticide spraying technology (tractor vs. drone) for a 50-acres bok choy filed, considering the functional performance, environmental impact, as well as economic and societal influence

  • Performed product-based streamlined life cycle assessment (qualitative), hybrid life cycle assessment (quantitative), and TRACI impact assessment to determine the significance of environmental impact during each life stage

  • Compared the economic aspect of two alternatives by providing cash flow diagram and conducting net present value analysis

  • Analyzed the social impact of two technologies to workers, local community, society and consumers

  • Developed DfE(design for the environment) strategies to further reduce negative environmental impact for the chosen alternative

  • In a group of four, composed two professional consultant reports and a poster for the presentation

  • Achieved a final grade of 87% for the course
